How to Reprogram a Belief

How To’s designed to get you unstuck and pull you into alignment with your highest self.

Most people in the personal growth industry (life coaching, therapy, etc.) will tell you beliefs can be shifted, but that it takes a long time and can be very difficult.

Bruh. I spent a YEAR in a mastery life coach training just to learn how to loosen the threads on limiting beliefs.

The reprogramming work would take place in a 90-minute, deep dive session that most people had a hard time even following; it was just SO many intricate steps.

Quite frankly, it was a disaster. The process was filled with jargon most people aren’t familiar with, and the results were hard wrought and minimal.

But then I found the work of Thais Gibson: therapist, life coach, and subconscious mind expert.

I took an additional certification with Thais at the helm and learned a new way to reprogram beliefs called autosuggestion.

And lemme tell you, it is INSANELY easy.

It’s SO easy in fact, that I have yet to meet a single person (myself included!) who didn’t immediately doubt how magical the results can be given that it takes only about 10 minutes a day to achieve.

But I’ve seen autosuggestion work absolute miracles to release the beliefs that hold me, my clients, and my loved ones back so we can tap into our authenticity and start to move mountains in our lives.

Why is Autosuggestion So Effective?

The practice of autosuggestion is special because it reaches all the way into the subconscious mind where our beliefs are stored.

The subconscious mind doesn’t really speak in language all that much, which is why our plucky affirmations (“I am STRONG! I am worthy of love! I AM GONNA RULE The WORLD ONE DAY!”) can only do so much.

The language of the subconscious mind is actually emotion and imagery.

That’s how our beliefs get programmed in the first place, and that’s the way to REprogram them.

How to Practice Autosuggestion

The first step is to find what you’d like to believe instead of what you currently believe about either yourself or the world.

The options here are absolutely limitless, so I’ll give you some examples to get you started.

Helpful beliefs: I am loved, I am accepted, I am included, I am empowered, I am good enough, money comes to me unexpectedly, people come through for me, I experience emotional connection when I take up space, I matter, I belong, etc.

Once you have the belief you want to program into your subconscious mind, the second step is to find evidence the new belief is true.

We do that by feeling and visualizing 10-15 memories from our past when the belief WAS true and then writing them down/typing them up.

Note: These could be memories from the last 24 hours or from any other time in your life.

Example: “I was loved when:” (List 10-15 times in your life you were loved), “I was included when:” (List 10-15 times you were included), “I was empowered when:” (List 10-15 times you were empowered), “Money came to me unexpectedly when:” (List 10-15 times that happened), “Someone came through for me when:” (Okay, okay. You get it).

As you go through your list, remember to visualize and feel each memory.

Practicing this every day for 21 days will shift the belief.

Practicing it every day for 63 days will completely reprogram it.

And not only that, but you will actually be able to feel the effects in real time as you go through this process and your subconscious brain sees evidence of the new belief and breaks down the old one.
