Hello, you fine human being!
Do you remember that song “I’m Too Sexy” by Right Said Fred?
It’s kind of a goofy song about all the things he’s “too sexy” for – his hat, his car, his shirt, his cat, etc.
The song actually started as a joke, and then turned into a huge hit.
I heard it on the radio this morning and it got me thinking about what it really means to be sexy.
After all, we all have different interpretations of that word!
Some of the most universally sexy qualities are:
- Confidence, vulnerability, sense of humor, emotional intelligence, ambition, and optimism.
I would argue that whatever attributes you’re rocking, sexiness all comes down to authenticity.
When you approach whatever it is you’re doing as your authentic self, I guarantee you’re smoking hot while doing it!
As I visualized Right Said Fred doing his little turn on the catwalk, I started thinking of all the things I’M too sexy for and began shouting them aloud to my empty living room.
“I’m too sexy for my messy kitchen!”
“I’m too sexy for worrying!”
“I’m too sexy for playing it safe!”
What I want to know now is what YOU’RE too sexy for!
Are you too sexy for waiting for someone to text you back?
Are you too sexy for traffic?
Are you just too damn sexy for stress, insecurity, or overwhelm?
Keep some awareness around the everyday things that get to you and dull your shine by reminding yourself of that!
Find Your Light
We all have a light of authenticity inside us with unique switches to turn it on.
To get in touch with your sexiest side, ask yourself what lights you up.
What moves you?
This is important since when you connect to those things, you connect to your authentic self and therefore, yo sexiest self!
And when you connect to yourself, you inspire others to do the same.
American author and spiritual leader Marianne Williamson said,
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
If you REALLY believed that and operated out of that truth, what would change?
What would life look like for you?
This is my favorite quote of all time and it perfectly represents the kind of sexy we’re talking about today.
So today, let Marianne’s beautiful words permeate your heart.
Take a few deep breaths and imagine yourself shining so brightly, others can feel the light coming off you.
You are meant to shine, and you are too sexy to settle for less!
P.S. I made a playlist with something for just about everyone to help you bring out your sexiest, most empowered self. Enjoy!
